HUCO was founded in 1980 as a car parts supplier. The company, which had undergone rapid development until 1998, has now taken its first step as an OEM as an Audi brand spare parts supplier. HUCO, which crossed paths with Lamförder in the 2000s, rebranded as HUECO in 2014 and has been operating with a plant in India since 2005. In 2008, the company received DIN ISO TS 16949 certification and began production of spare parts for large trucks and buses. The shares of the company, which moved its head office to Germany in 2011, were acquired by HITACHI in 2012, and in 2017 the company was renamed Hitachi Automotive Systems Espelkamp GmbH. The company, which already has a DIN EN ISO 9001 certificate, is one of the leaders in the auto parts market.
